Custom Apparel Measurement Form Setup Guide

A custom apparel form should collect measurements in one stated unit and one stated method. This setup separates chest, waist, and garment length from fit preference. Use COLY numeric fields for measurements and keep a clear diagram or measuring guide beside the form.

Should the form collect body or finished-garment measurements?

Decide whether you need body measurements or finished-garment measurements. Never mix the two under the same label. The example fields assume body circumference for chest and waist, plus a requested finished garment length. Change the labels if your production process uses another method.

  1. Write the measuring method with your tailor and choose a single unit for the form.
  2. Use Number fields with bounds derived from the products you make. Set the decimal option to 1 if you accept tenths of a centimetre; zero decimal places would lose that precision. Explain that unusual requests need review.
  3. Place the measuring diagram next to the fields and label the requested garment length separately from body dimensions.
  4. Submit a realistic measurement set and have production read it before accepting live custom orders.

Read the COLY setup guide for the full app controls and placement options.

Check the finished setup

  • Try decimal measurements and check that the intended precision survives into the order.
  • Enter a value in inches by mistake and confirm the unit helper is easy to see.
  • Check that required measurements remain attached to the correct item when the cart contains two custom garments.

Common mistakes

  • Do not use input bounds as a promise that every measurement set can be produced.
  • Do not infer a finished fit from numeric fields without your normal production review.

Supported use

This plan collects product order details. It does not configure fees, stock, appointments, or shipping services. Check plan access for conditional fields. Test each purchase route in your theme and verify that the intended details reach the order before you accept custom work.

COLY features, current app plans, and COLY conditional logic explain the supported setup.
