How do I sync a Google Sheet to a Shopify table?

Connect a native Google Sheet to Table Master and publish its rows as a searchable, responsive Shopify storefront table.

Reviewed August 12, 2026. This guide describes the current Table Master Google Sheets import and sync settings.

How does Table Master Google Sheets sync work?

Table Master can turn a native Google Sheet into a searchable Shopify storefront table. Share the sheet with Anyone with the link and Viewer access, then paste its full URL into a new Google Sheet database. You can import all rows and columns or define a specific range. Table Master can also replace embedded-table column names with the headers from the sheet. If automatic pull is enabled, Table Master checks the source every six hours. A merchant can use Sync now when a refresh is needed sooner. This connection is one way: Table Master pulls sheet data into its database. It does not write storefront or Table Master changes back to Google Sheets, edit Shopify products, or provide real-time sync. The source must be a native Google Sheet, not an Excel file stored in Google Drive. Imported rows and columns must stay within the store's active limits; higher row limits are available by arrangement.

How should I prepare the Google Sheet?

  1. Put one column name in each cell of the first row.
  2. Put one item, product, part, size, or result in each later row.
  3. Keep the same data type in each column.
  4. Remove merged cells and blank header names.
  5. Open Share in Google Sheets.
  6. Under General access, select Anyone with the link and use Viewer access.

The source must be a native Google Sheet. An Excel .xlsx file stored in Google Drive is not the same format. Open that file in Google Drive and use File → Save as Google Sheets before you connect it.

How do I connect the Google Sheet to Table Master?

  1. In Table Master, create a new database.
  2. Choose Google Sheet as the import source.
  3. Paste the full Google Sheet URL.
  4. Optional: Enable Pull data from Google Sheets every 6 hours.
  5. Optional: Enable Update embedded table column names from Google Sheets if sheet headers must replace custom embedded-table column names.
  6. If required, enter a sheet name. Leave it blank to use the first sheet.
  7. Choose all columns or enter a specific column range, such as A,D.
  8. Choose all rows or enter the start and end rows.
  9. Save the import.

Only rows that fit the store's active Table Master capacity are imported. Check the database row count before a large import. Public self-service plans include up to 20,000 rows. Higher row limits are available by arrangement through Activory support.

How often does Table Master refresh Google Sheets data?

If automatic pull is enabled, Table Master pulls new data every six hours. This schedule is not real-time. It can take up to the next six-hour run before a sheet change appears in the storefront table.

To refresh sooner:

  1. Open the Google Sheet database in Table Master.
  2. Select Sync now.
  3. Wait for the sync to finish.
  4. Check the latest values and the storefront table.

Use Edit Google Sheet settings if you must change the sheet URL, sheet name, source ranges, automatic pull, or column-name behavior.

Is Google Sheets sync two way?

No. Table Master pulls data from Google Sheets into its database. A Table Master or storefront change is not written back to Google Sheets. This connection is not a two-way Shopify product editor.
